In 2017, there were 72, 367 reported incidents of intimate partner violence in Canada.
Both males and females may become a victim of family violence, and females are 3x more likely than males.
Between 2009-2017, 3% of all intimate partner violence involved same-sex partners.
Intimate partner violence is more common in rural areas than urban (1.7x higher)
70% of all family violence is not reported to the police.
