Crisis Intervention

NOTE: During this Covid-19 Pandemic, we have been taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe. We are still meeting in person for emergency callouts, and are available via phone for all other matters.

Leduc Victims Services - Crisis Intervention

When tragedy or crisis occurs, sometimes it is nice to have someone there to support you immediately after it happens. Our team of highly-trained staff and volunteers can attend your home, workplace, school, or other organization with RCMP members to ensure you get the information you need as soon as possible.

If an RCMP member attends a crisis situation, they may call our on-call advocates and together will figure out the best way to support you.

Examples of incidents that we can attend:

  • Sudden death and next of kin notifications – provide information about next steps and resources to help you work through your grief.
  • Sexual assaults – Attend the detachment and assist you with any immediate needs, or attend the hospital with you and the police member.
  • Family violence – Meet at the detachment and assist with immediate needs (shelter, food, etc.), and provide information about what happens next.
